Coach and Minibus Hire in the United Kingdom

Minibuses with a Driver for Your Group's Days Out

Tell us who's coming, where you'd like to go and when. We'll pass the plan to a licensed, insured partner operator with a minibus and driver free that day, and you'll get one quote covering the whole trip.

We book it; a local operator runs it

We're a booking service. The minibus, the Sprinter or the coach, and the person driving it, all come from partner operators who are licensed and insured; none of the vehicles belong to us. We match your plans to a suitable operator, get the trip priced and look after the booking until the final drop-off.

Anyone we book needs the right paperwork. If the vehicle carries nine passengers or more, that means a PSV operator licence issued by the Traffic Commissioner. Anything smaller runs under a private hire licence instead. Either way, the operator must carry the insurance UK law sets.

Built around smaller groups

Smaller parties come first: the family get-together, the wedding guests, the golf group, the club off to an away fixture. A minibus or Sprinter-style vehicle seats up to 19 passengers, copes with tighter lanes than a coach and keeps everyone in one conversation.

Bigger group? A midi coach takes 29 to 35 people and a full-size coach 49 to 81, about 80 on a double-decker. For one to three guests there's an executive car.

Lakes, Cotswolds and Highlands

Three favourites for a day away. From Manchester, Windermere in the Lake District is about 85 miles, roughly an hour and three quarters each way. The Cotswolds are closer than many expect: Oxford to Burford is only about 20 miles, and Birmingham to Bourton-on-the-Water about 55.

In the Highlands, it's only about 16 miles from Inverness to Drumnadrochit, beside Loch Ness. Skye is a much longer outing: count on something like 220 miles in all, and five and a half hours on the road before you've stopped anywhere. Drivers' hours limits apply, so the quote will say if it needs a second driver or a night away.

Weddings, hen and stag weekends, reunions

For a wedding, send the times as you know them: collecting guests from the hotel, the ceremony, the move to the reception and the last run home. The hours in between are part of what gets priced, so a late finish is planned in from the start. Hen and stag weekends and family reunions work the same way. List every stop in order and it's priced as one trip.

How pricing works here

You won't find a price list. The day you travel, how long you need the driver, how far you go and the size of vehicle all move the figure, so each trip gets its own quote. Cancellation terms differ from one operator and vehicle to the next, and they're written on your quote before any payment. Nothing is taken until you've accepted it.

A few local rules worth knowing

Inside York's city walls, nothing seating over 16, coach or minibus, is allowed. In central London, a vehicle of nine seats or more qualifies for a full discount from the Congestion Charge. Scotland's low emission zones in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen offer no pay-to-enter option: a vehicle either meets the standard or stays out. Each city page covers the rest.

Your questions

Do you run the minibuses yourselves?

No. A licensed, insured partner operator supplies the vehicle and employs the driver. We make the booking and stay your point of contact.

When do I pay?

Only after you accept the quote. Asking for one is free and commits you to nothing.

Can you help a group of 40?

Yes. A party that size fits a full-size coach, or a midi coach with a minibus alongside if some stops are small or the lanes narrow.
