Oxford Minibus Hire for Colleges, Blenheim and the Cotswolds
Oxford is a compact city with very little room for vehicles, which is exactly why groups hire a driver here. You'll be set down close to the colleges, then collected again, while the minibus waits out of the way.
Three bays, and no parking
There is no coach parking in central Oxford at all, only bays to get on and off: St Giles', by the Taylorian; Beaumont Street, outside the Playhouse and handy for the Ashmolean; and St Aldate's South, near Christ Church. Drivers must switch off and move on as soon as everyone is aboard, and the bays are patrolled.
For a longer wait, larger vehicles head to Redbridge Park & Ride on the south side, about ten minutes out. Its main entrance has a height barrier, so vehicles use the coach entrance behind the Travelodge off Old Abingdon Road.

New traffic rules to check
Oxford began a trial of traffic filters on 28 September 2026, on streets such as Hythe Bridge Street and St Clement's Street. Coaches can pass freely, but the published exemptions don't mention minibuses, so ask whether a permit is needed for your route. A small Zero Emission Zone also charges petrol and diesel vehicles on streets like Cornmarket and Queen Street during the day; none of the three set-down bays sits on it. These rules are still changing, so it's worth checking close to your visit.

Blenheim, Burford and beyond
Blenheim Palace is about 25 minutes away at Woodstock. Groups book ahead, and on arrival your driver reports to Groups Welcome, just to the left of Hensington Gate. Burford and the Cotswolds are around 40 minutes, Bicester Village half an hour, and Stratford-upon-Avon about an hour and a quarter for a longer day.
Your questions
How far is Heathrow from Oxford?
About 45 miles via the M40 and M25, roughly an hour when traffic is light. Allow more at busy times, especially for a morning flight.
Can we get to the British Grand Prix from Oxford?
On an ordinary day the run to Silverstone takes about 50 minutes for its 30 or so miles. Race weekends are much busier, so leave early and agree the return pick-up well in advance.
Is parking free for the minibus at Blenheim?
Coach parking is free for booked groups except on some special event days, and commercial coach drivers get in free. Mention your vehicle size when you book the visit.
Which part of Oxford is easiest for hotel pick-ups?
Hotels out towards Peartree, Oxford Parkway or Botley are simpler to reach than the old centre, and the colleges are still a short ride away.
