Coach and Minibus Hire in the United Kingdom

Brighton Minibus Hire for Seaside Weekends and South Downs Days

Brighton is made for groups: hen and stag weekends, seaside weddings, a family day on the pier. A minibus with a driver takes the parking puzzle out of the day, which on this stretch of coast is worth a great deal.

Getting set down on the seafront

The council's coach drop-off bays are on Madeira Drive, just after the roundabout. It's the stop used for SEA LIFE Brighton and the Palace Pier. Larger vehicles then park in the pay-and-display Madeira Drive coach park near the Marina, kept for coaches all year and within easy reach of the set-down points.

One thing to check before you book: Madeira Drive shuts to traffic for big seafront events, and the coach park can't be used on those days. Checking event dates with the city council before you fix your plans saves a scramble later.

From Gatwick to the coast

Gatwick is about 28 miles north via the M23 and A23, roughly 40 minutes when the roads are quiet. That makes it the easy choice for guests flying in for a wedding. Heathrow is about 60 miles, around an hour and a half. Send flight numbers and the driver can meet each arrival.

Hen and stag weekends

A minibus keeps the whole party together between the hotel, the afternoon activity and dinner, and means no one is stuck waiting for taxis at the end of the night. Give the driver a rough running order and the pick-up addresses in advance, and build in a little slack; weekend evenings on the seafront are busy.

Up onto the Downs

Devil's Dyke, up on the South Downs, is about 20 minutes away. Lewes is a short hop, Arundel about 45 minutes west, Chichester an hour, and Seven Sisters and Beachy Head around 50 minutes along the coast. Central London is roughly two hours if you fancy a show.

Your questions

Where can we stay that's easy for pick-ups?

Hotels on the seafront, in Hove or at the Marina are usually simpler for a vehicle to reach than an address tucked into the Lanes. If you're booked into the centre, the driver can agree a nearby spot to collect everyone.

Can we get to a match at the Amex by minibus?

Yes. The stadium is at Falmer on the edge of the city, and Falmer station is right beside it. Agree a collection point away from the crowds for after the final whistle.

Is Brighton a good base for a wedding in the countryside?

It works well. The South Downs start just north of the city, so guests can stay by the sea and ride out to a country venue together, then come back as a group.
