Coach and Minibus Hire in the United Kingdom

Getting to and from Your Ship

Five British ports, five different arrangements, from Dover and Southampton in the south to the Tyne, the Mersey and the Clyde further north. Each page explains where your vehicle can drop you, where it collects and how long to allow for the airport run.

Allow for the luggage

A cruise usually means big cases, sometimes two weeks' worth each. A minibus has limited room for bags once every seat is taken, so for a full party with big suitcases the answer may be a larger vehicle or a car alongside. Tell us how many cases are coming.

Timing the run to the ship

Southampton's terminals are about 68 miles from Heathrow, roughly 1 hour 15 to 1 hour 30 depending on traffic, and from central London to Dover is a 75 to 80 mile drive. Liverpool and the Port of Tyne ask groups to arrive only at their allotted time, so the pickup is planned back from that.

Your questions

What do you need for a cruise transfer?

The ship's name, the sailing date, your embarkation or disembarkation time, how many are travelling and where you're heading afterwards.

Which Southampton gate will we use?

That depends on the terminal: Ocean and QEII are reached through Dock Gate 4, City and Horizon through Dock Gate 10, and Mayflower through Dock Gate 20.

Can we stop somewhere on the way?

Yes. A lunch stop or a short detour can be part of the same trip, as long as it still fits your arrival time at the port.
