Liverpool Minibus Hire, Docks to Dunes
From the Cavern Quarter to Anfield and the Royal Albert Dock, Liverpool packs a lot into a compact centre. A minibus with a driver links it all up, then takes you out to the coast, Chester or North Wales once you've seen the city.
Short stops along the waterfront
The city's coach map shows brief pick-up and drop-off bays at Crosshall Street and William Brown Street, near the museums, and on Gower Street by the Royal Albert Dock, where the limit is ten minutes. They come from an older council map, so your driver will check the street signs on the day.
There's no daily emissions charge to pay anywhere in Liverpool. For conferences and concerts on Kings Dock, the Liverpool Experience Campus has drop-off areas right beside the site.

Over to the Wirral
Two tunnels cross the Mersey. The older Queensway tunnel takes nothing over 3.9 m high, 2.7 m wide or 3.5 tonnes, which is why full-size coaches use the Kingsway tunnel instead. Tolls are paid at the barriers. It's a lovely trip for golfers heading to Hoylake, or anyone after an afternoon by the sea.
Heading south over the Mersey Gateway or Silver Jubilee bridges, you won't see a booth at all; cameras log the crossing and payment is due before midnight the next day. For those tolls, minibuses carrying over eight passengers are Class 3.

Arriving by ship
Arriving at Liverpool John Lennon
Lime Street is 8 or 9 miles away, so allow roughly 25 minutes. Your meeting point depends on the size of the vehicle. Smaller minibuses, below 16 seats and 2.15 m in height, wait in the express car park facing the building. If yours stands taller, look for it in a set-aside section of Long Stay behind the multi-storey. Anything over 16 seats pulls into the coach bays out front, where half an hour is the limit.
Flying into Manchester instead? That's about 35 miles and 50 minutes away, a simple transfer for a group.
Beaches, races and castles
Crosby Beach and Knowsley Safari are under half an hour out. Chester is an easy half-day, and Conwy or Llandudno make a longer, very rewarding run into North Wales. Each April the Grand National meeting fills Aintree, so book early for that week.
Your questions
Will our minibus fit through the Mersey tunnel?
It depends on the vehicle. The Queensway tunnel is limited to 3.5 tonnes and 3.9 m high; anything bigger, including full-size coaches, goes through Kingsway.
Where does the driver meet us at the airport?
It comes down to height and seats. Low minibuses under 16 seats wait just across from the doors; bigger vehicles use the coach bays right outside.
Can we do an Anfield tour and the Albert Dock in one day?
Yes. Both are close to the centre, so a stadium tour in the morning and the dock museums in the afternoon is very doable.
